Story Prayer

Story prayer is a way of experiencing scripture as if you were there.  The goal of story prayer is to encounter Jesus.  By encountering him in scripture, we can also begin to see him at work all around us.  Start by choosing a time you can be completely unplugged and uninterrupted.  Ask God to sanctify your imagination.

Let the story unfold in your mind.  Notice the details like the look on peoples faces, the smell, or the your emotional reaction to the events.  Spend some time after the prayer reflecting one what you noticed and any insights you gained.  You may find it helpful to note these in a journal.
